My first dyed yarn....
Well here it is .......this is my first ever dyed yarn.  If I tell you it smells like Lemonade and Strawberry.... would that give it away as to what I used.  I was just dieing to dye something and the Kool Aid was readily available and so easy and fun.  This yarn is kinda special because we started with the fleece and did the whole process.......of course it is worth like several hundreds of dollars now!!!!.....my whole life I figure I probably have made about $1.50 an hour!!!!........Any and all artist totally will understand that logic. So my Dear Dye Friends.....what do you think?? Does it pass the audition.......???

So........other then yarn speak.  I would like to know if I am the only person that puts a cell phone to their ear to listen for the dial tone???
I am so technology challenged.  I have never owned a cell phone and will occasionally have to use Richards and I do it every time right up to the ear........!!!!!>.........

No.....actually he did give me a cell phone for a while and took it away because I never used it and couldnt retrieve my messages and couldnt remember my code or whatever it is called.......half the time I can not even remember my phone number........

Penny With the Dial Phone Lane.......
ps.....i love old phones............do you remember dialing a boy up on the phone as a teen....... and as the dial was coming around making that clickety sound you pushed down the hang-up button.......only to do it again and again and again.......i know some of you remember.......or how about "Is your refrigerator running?".........or......."Why did you answer you just electrocuted the telephone repair man."......it was so much fun.........of course all of this pre.....calller ID, call waiting, answer call, star 69 and so on.......great gads.....do we really need all that.......

Sweet! I think Kool-Aid is a great dye...that's why I would never drink the stuff! I most recently used it for some millspun mohair, and I wish it photographed better, because it's lovely and smells good, too, in that artificial-flavor sort of way. Cell phones don't work where we live...it's like misshawklet said...it's 1812 at our house...

when we lived up on the mesa we didnt have cell phone either, there was one place on the 3 miles road to our house that you could get it.....we called it the phone booth and even then it was not for certain....i dont know if you know this but we lived off grid in a strawbale....it was heaven!!!...we are now thinking about moving to Maine....yes....I am a gypsy.....

really?? we are thinking about moving to maine when this house finally sells...we want to be near the ocean again, but don't tell our family that it's not going to be the Pacific! we want a little, foggy organic farm...

The yarn is great - Koolaid is so much fun.

And yeah, this will give away a lot. My first phone number was Emerson 30779 - dialed EM30779... Gawd does that make me feel old! And do you remember party lines?

thanks on the yarn.....we only had to dial the last 4 numbers in our town for awhile.....then it went to 5....then 7.....then 10.....we had a party line with my Grandparents....our phone rang twice like an English phone and theirs once....but at both houses... and then we could dial some weird number to call each other....i miss all that .....

I would like to know if I am the only person that puts a cell phone to their ear to listen for the dial tone???</I. Is this abnormal? :) When I was growing up, we had "party lines," where you and your neighbors all shared a phone line. You'd go to make a call and the neighbor might already be using the phone line, so you'd have to wait until the neighbor was done using the phone. Very strange to think about now. Loverly yarn.
